Lost in Translation? Finding the right words for effective international communication..

Interpreter and Translator for English and German, based in Duesseldorf. International projects require communication across language barriers. Quality translation is not just about accurately converting your text into another language – my goal is to ensure that each client’s uniqueness shines through.

ABOUT ME

Ilke Iamsin

I am a sworn interpreter and certified translator for the English language for the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf.

After completing a BA in English, German and Philosophy I went to London where I spent fifteen
years in international Marketing Communications, on both the client and agency side. Managing
branding and media campaigns for global companies taught me about creating relevant texts for
international and local audiences. I worked as a lecturer in Asia for five years where I learned how to
communicate effectively within and between cultures.

INTERPRETING

An interpreter works with spoken words, conveying a message from one language to another. The most common modes of interpreting are simultaneous interpreting, consecutive interpreting and whisper interpreting.

Simultaneous interpreting first emerged at the Nuremburg Trial. The interpreter listens and renders the message in the target language at the same time as the speaker is speaking.

In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter speaks after the source language speaker has stopped speaking.

Whisper interpreting is the right choice for confidential talks or meetings. You have the interpreter right at your side, and no technical equipment is required.

I prepare your translation with the due respect for your original text,
